When we can't do anything else, as we and people we care about, go through difficult times, we can pray!! When we can't do anything else, and we really want to do something to "fix" a
situation, God gives us the gift, allows us, to pray. And that makes all the difference--between how Christians go through trials and how the world faces hard times.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance, perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

Closed doors and open windows

Well, God has closed one door and I'm watching to see what windows He will open next. All I know is that I will keep writing--curriculum, Bible study, whatever He places on my desk. And I'll have to keep trusting Him to provide. I'm reminded of the wilderness wanderings... what God most wanted was for the Israelites to trust Him to provide for their every need.

Balance

I think God has His hands full keeping all of us in different churches balanced between prayer and Bible study and everything else! We easily get distracted and off track and focused on worldly things. So... have I found a time to put more of His focus in my life the next few days? Not yet, but I'll to give it some thought!

Off topic

This doesn't relate to Bible study, specifically, but a blog is a good place to note a word of praise. I enjoy what I'm doing so much -- writing, reading, helping and sending resources to those in education and writing as I find come across things in my own research, hearing how God is working in the lives of others -- it's all good! I'm also very thankful for how God provides and takes care of us, even though we go against His Word and worry and fret. No wonder the Psalmist says so many times, "do not fret."

Sermon on the Mount

I'm currently reading parts of Jesus' sermon as recorded in Luke. My next link will be to research and find examples of how Jesus lived out His preaching -- a challenge, I think. Any thoughts?
